Here are the latest updates about Ivan's adoption . . .

We received a call today from the host program coordinator.   I
t sounds as if Ivan may not be allowed to travel in December for the trip to Missouri.  They tell us he just got out of the hospital after having bronchitis and pleurisy. Neither condition is serious.  Since they are in the process of getting visas, they are not getting Ivan's for whatever reason.   I still do not understand why he would not be well enough in over a month.   We've been told we can make the two trips to Russia and adopt, or select another child.

Ivan being sick is all the more reason he needs a family.  I cannot imagine what he must be going through to be alone in a hospital, feeling sick without a mother or father to comfort him.  How awful!  We want to go and get him out of there before he is seriously ill.   We really want to adopt him and if two trips are what we have to do, then that is what we will do.

So, we are still moving forward, just not sure where all this is taking us. We still planning on Ivan being our son - it just may be a little different in bringing him home.

Happy New Year everyone!  Winner of the raffle was drawn and the winner was Donna Masters from Warrenton, MO.  Thanks to everyone for helping us.

At this point we are still in limbo as to what we are doing with adoption.  We really don't think we can make the 2 trips to Russia to be able to adopt Ivan.  So our other option is to adopt a different child or we can wait and see if Ivan will come over on the next trip.  So we are really torn as to what to do right now.  Connie is really heart broken and not dealing with the stress well right now.

Hopefully we will be moving forward again soon.
